A voluntary run and free community drawing group based in Bristol, UK.

 

ALL WELCOME! ​

This project is about helping the public connect to buildings and locations. It is about breathing new life into Churches, bringing community back within them and exploring their uses. It is encouraging people to get drawing and making. It is about a belief that creativity can help us to strengthen our voices, nurture our mental health and connect to each other. 

 

From a core group of people who rarely miss a session, to random visitors to the city who have long left Bristol behind them, each drawing is a moment in the life of the space we occupy and of the people who have walked through the doors. With the support and the open mindedness of The Churches Conservation Trust the project has flourished. 

 

The group simply draw the spaces we visit, talk about and share the work they have produced. The sessions run on the ethos that there is no right way to make art, and that everyone involved and everything created is equal and valued. We take pride in the idea that the mindfulness of creativity combined with places of heritage can act as a catalyst for 

growth and inspiration.
